Project Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer By joining our team as a Blog Editing Assistant, you will help us prepare and launch our nonprofit’s first blog. This blog will serve as a way to share our story, highlight upcoming events, and provide valuable information to the MS community.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our mission is to empower individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) to thrive by providing accessible, no-cost therapeutic movement and exercise services that enhance their mental health and overall well-being while encouraging independence.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Reviewing and editing draft blog posts for clarity, tone, and flow. Ensuring all content is consistent with the supportive mission of MS-Take Charge, Inc. Formatting posts (headings, spacing, photos, and links) to make them reader-friendly. Assisting with the setup and organization of the blog before its launch. Helping create a simple publishing schedule so new content can be posted regularly once the blog is live.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Learn how nonprofits use blogs to share updates and connect with their community. Gain experience editing and preparing content for digital publishing. Strengthen your skills in editing, formatting, and online communication. Help launch a new communication tool that supports awareness, fundraising, and community engagement.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer We will meet in person once a week. The project requires 1 day/week for 3-5 hours each week to organize the files and make progress on the binders. Hours will be tracked in Clockify.

Answer Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological disorder usually manifesting itself in the early 20’s. Almost one million people in the United States have MS, making it one of the most common causes of neurological disability among young adults (20’s-40’s) in North America. The prevalence of MS in Wisconsin is medium to high and there are an estimated 20,000 people in Wisconsin impacted by Multiple Sclerosis. With an estimated 350 individuals living with MS in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
