Project Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer You will help us organize and compile important papers into binders so our nonprofit can work more smoothly. This includes sorting paperwork from 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 into labeled, easy-to-use binders. You will also create a special MS Walk Binder organized in timeline order. This binder will serve as a planning guide for future MS Walks, making it easier for our team and volunteers to coordinate events. Embracing the abundance aiming to raise awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis research and support.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our mission is to empower individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) to thrive by providing accessible, no-cost therapeutic movement and exercise services that enhance mental health and overall well-being while encouraging independence.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Basic organizational skills Ability to sort, label, and assemble binders neatly Attention to detail to keep paperwork in correct order Ability to follow instructions while also working independently

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Learn how nonprofits keep track of projects, events, and paperwork in an organized way. Gain hands-on experience in organizing past records into a system that will be used for years to come. Build an MS Walk planning binder, learning how events are structured step-by-step. Strengthen skills in organization, responsibility, and project management that are valuable in any career.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer We will meet in person once a week. The project requires 1 day/week for 3-5 hours each week to organize the files and make progress on the binders. Hours will be tracked in Clockify.

Answer Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological disorder usually manifesting itself in the early 20’s. Almost one million people in the United States have MS, making it one of the most common causes of neurological disability among young adults (20’s-40’s) in North America. The prevalence of MS in Wisconsin is medium to high and there are an estimated 20,000 people in Wisconsin impacted by Multiple Sclerosis.
