Project Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The project involves supporting community members in their pursuit of better health and wellness through hands-on experience with various holistic health devices and practices. Many individuals in the community face barriers to accessing wellness services or lack awareness of alternative health options. This program aims to provide affordable, accessible wellness support in a welcoming environment, promoting holistic health and empowering community members to take active roles in their well-being.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Mission Statement: At Evolving Wellness, we are dedicated to sealing the cracks in our health system that have left too many individuals underserved. Our goal is to redefine healthcare by creating a powerful health coalition that partners with practitioners, patients, and Wisconsin residents to advocate for transformative state policy changes. We believe in empowering individuals on their personal health journeys, promoting a holistic lifestyle that encourages them to become well, be well, and stay well. Through our Collaborative Community Care model, we offer innovative alternatives in health and wellness services. By fostering collaboration among a diverse array of practitioners and prioritizing education, we address the unique body, mind, and spirit needs of each individual, ensuring comprehensive support for all who seek to enhance their overall well-being. Vision Statement: At Evolving Wellness, we envision a health system where no individual slips through the cracks. Our aim is to establish a seamless network of support that uplifts every person on their wellness journey. What skills are required for this project?

Answer While prior experience is not required, essential skills include strong communication and interpersonal skills, a genuine interest in health and wellness, and the ability to work collaboratively in a supportive environment. Basic organizational skills and a friendly, professional demeanor are also important to assist clients effectively and promote a positive experience.

What are the learning objectives for this project

Answer Participants will learn how to operate and maintain various wellness devices, develop customer service and communication skills, and gain a deeper understanding of holistic health practices. They will also acquire experience in client intake procedures, record-keeping, and effective teamwork within a nonprofit wellness setting. Ultimately, the role aims to foster a greater appreciation for community health promotion and personal wellness.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Flexible scheduling is offered to accommodate students’ academic commitments. The specific hours can be arranged based on the student’s availability, with a preference for consistent participation during agreed-upon times to ensure continuity of service and support for clients.
