Project Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The Discovery Room Docent is an educator stationed in the Discovery Room at Beaver Creek Reserve on the weekends. They will lead visitors through short lesson plans that may include a craft, game, or activity. The Docent will answer questions and guide visitors in using the Discovery Room's many features.

Answer Communication, education, leadership, and interpersonal skills are required for this project.

What are the learning objectives for this project

Answer The learning objectives are teaching visitors how to explore Beaver Creek Reserve and nature as a whole. Docents will learn how to teach the same lesson to a variety of age groups and experience levels.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Weekend availability is required. Shifts are available every other weekend: Saturdays 11 AM-3 PM Sundays 12-4 PM

Answer Training will be provided. Reliable transportation to Beaver Creek Reserve is required.
