Project Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The Town of Pleasant Valley is seeking a self-motivated individual to clean up and maintain an existing perennial garden. The garden was originally planted by a local resident in memory of his late wife and now requires ongoing care. Most of the work will involve weeding and mulching. Once the garden has been cleaned up for the spring, it will only need to be checked and weeded every few weeks. Fall cleanup is also available if additional hours are needed.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The Town of Pleasant Valley is located just south of the City of Eau Claire. We take great pride in our park facilities and the area’s rich history. Our goal is to keep our beautiful parks looking their absolute best for everyone to enjoy.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining garden beds, weeding, spreading mulch, and identifying perennials. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently. Guidance on perennial identification will be provided if needed.

What are the learning objectives for this project

Answer The objective is to restore the garden to a condition that allows park visitors to enjoy walking the path and appreciating the area. This role offers learning opportunities in time management, communication, self-motivation, and taking pride in creating a beautiful space for all to enjoy.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Work can be completed at any time during daylight hours. All tools and equipment will be provided.
