Project Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer We are seeking a passionate and creative volunteer to join our team as an Art Education & Outreach Assistant. ARTmobile connects children and families with the visual arts both in person and online. Its purpose is to provide fun and relevant art projects that have an educational aspect to them.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer This role supports our mission to make art accessible to all by helping design, coordinate, and implement educational programs and community outreach initiatives. It’s an ideal opportunity for emerging educators or community-minded artists looking to gain hands-on experience in arts education and nonprofit programming.

3.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer Interest in art, education, and community engagement. Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with diverse populations. Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented. Experience with children or teaching (formal or informal) is a plus. Artistic ability or background in visual arts, art history, or education is a plus. Willingness to take initiative and work as part of a collaborative team.

4.

What are the learning objectives for this project

Answer Assist with the delivery of art workshops, classes, and community events (these take place both indoors and outdoors). Help prepare educational materials and art supplies. Transport art cart and set up equipment such as EZ up tent (requires pulling/lifting). Support instructors and teaching artists during youth and/or adult programming. Engage with students, families, and community members to encourage participation. Represent the organization at outreach events (e.g., school visits, community fairs). Assist with setup and cleanup of programming spaces. Provide administrative support such as attendance tracking and program evaluation.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Must be available Saturdays between 9:30 am - 1:45 pm, and some Thursday nights between 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Students will volunteer 3–6 hours/week depending on scheduled activities (possible day, evening, and weekend events around town). The application deadline and start date are open. Interested in this opportunity? Please contact Mary LaVenture, STEAM Programs Manager to discuss positions available before signing up. mary@pablocenter.org

6.

Additional information (not required).

Answer Because this position works with children, a background check is required. Hannah (ARTmobile Lead) will be overseeing the volunteer's daily activities and will complete the ending survey. This has the potential to phase into a longer volunteer role!
