Project Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The project involves assisting in the design and development of a new WordPress based website for the Wisconsin Partnership for Kids Coalition (WPFK). The goal of the website is to establish a modern, accessible, and mission driven digital presence that clearly communicates the coalition’s purpose, supports stakeholder engagement, and strengthens public awareness of out of school time (OST) programming across Wisconsin. As part of this project, the student will work collaboratively with WPFK staff who will provide all necessary materials, information, and design direction. Staff will offer ongoing guidance, feedback, and structured support to ensure the student is confident and successful throughout each phase of building the website. This is a team supported project—no one is expected to work on it alone.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The Wisconsin Partnership for Kids Coalition is a statewide group of local organizations dedicated to supporting and advancing out-of-school time (OST) programs for children and youth. The coalition advocates for equitable access to high quality OST opportunities, bringing together educators, parents, community partners, and youth-serving organizations. Through collective action and strategic communication, the coalition works to enhance program effectiveness, secure sustainable funding, and ensure that every child in Wisconsin has the opportunity to thrive.

3.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer 1. Content Strategy & Information Architecture: Organizing content so stakeholders can easily find program information, resources, advocacy materials, and news. 2. Copywriting & Editing Support: Crafting or refining mission-centered language that reflects the coalition’s purpose and engages families, educators, and partners. 3. Brand Alignment: Ensuring design and messaging reflect the coalition’s identity, values, and statewide voice.

4.

What are the learning objectives for this project

Answer 1. Establish a Centralized, Accessible Digital Hub for OST Information Develop a modern, user focused WordPress website that consolidates key information about the coalition and out of school time (OST) efforts in Wisconsin. The site will ensure users can easily access resources, learn about initiatives, and engage with coalition priorities. 2. Strengthen Visibility and Advocacy for Equitable OST Opportunities Create a platform that highlights the value of OST programs and communicates statewide needs, impact, and advocacy priorities. The website will elevate public awareness and support equitable access to quality OST opportunities for all children and youth. 3. Enhance Coalition Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement Build site features that support efficient communication among coalition members and strengthen public engagement. Tools such as news updates, event listings, and contact forms will help unify statewide efforts and invite broader participation.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer The student will complete this project remotely on a flexible schedule, with regular check ins arranged as needed with WPFK staff. The project must be completed by the end of the student’s academic semester, allowing them to manage their workload alongside their coursework.
