Project Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Students will collect data to answer the question of whether off-campus student rental housing exhibits more health and safety concerns than non-student rental housing. The team will also produce an infographic, student housing resources, and a housing walk through checklist to evaluate housing health and safety. These materials will be shared through the UWEC Student Senate.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The project goal is to empower interested UWEC students to find safe and healthy off-campus housing.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer Basic computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), ability to work on a student team with faculty guidance, and understanding of basic statistical tests (e.g., t-test, ANOVA).

4.

What are the learning objectives for this project

Answer 1) Understand housing health and safety concerns. 2) Discuss these concerns with student colleagues, Health Department representatives, and landlords. 3) Create informational materials for students to find safe and healthy housing.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Be able to meet as a group once per week and respond to emails several times per week.
