1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer ECPRF offers a variety of recreational courses for youth each summer. We are currently reaching out to gauge interest in teaching an introductory Spanish course to local youth. If there is interest, we would work collaboratively to determine the appropriate age group, class schedule, dates, and location. This opportunity would be especially well-suited for individuals who are language majors or who are proficient in Spanish and interested in sharing their skills with the community.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer To provide exceptional park, recreation, forestry, cemetery, and facility services that will engage the community and enrich our citizens and visitors.

3.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer Bilingual in Spanish and English. Experienced in working with local youth ages 7–12. Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to effectively manage classrooms of up to 12 students.

4.

What are the learning objectives for this project

Answer Design and deliver an introductory Spanish language curriculum for local youth.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer We would hope to teach the course during our Summer 2026 Course Offerings. Most are Monday-Thursday and whatever times the instructor is available. We can be flexible!

6.

Additional information (not required).

Answer If you speak another language besides Spanish, please let us know! We'd love to offer even a basic introductory of Hmong or German too! Please email claire.ystebo@eauclairewi.gov if you're interested in this opportunity. This a great service project to teach our community about different languages!
