Project Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The project will assist with collecting homeless and housing data, mapping data, analyzing the data, and doing presentations. The data helps the community understand trends, needs, changes, and helps set policy and work with the community.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer It is our mission to assure the common good through services essential for a safe, sustainable, engaged and healthy community.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer The project will require using different programs including ArcGIS Pro and Excel. PowerBI will also be used, but knowledge is not necessary and we will work with a student to learn. Accurate data entry. Analytical ability.

4.

What are the learning objectives for this project

Answer The student will learn more about Eau Claire's homeless community and housing. We hope this knowledge from a data perspective will equip the student with knowledge on the current needs and challenges. The student will get experience in mapping, Excel, and PowerBI and may use items created in a portfolio. This role is an important behind the scenes position that provides another layer of information to help the community.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer The student and I will develop a schedule to achieve their needs. Second Wednesday from 5-approx7:30 will be a City housing meeting the student will present data at and learn more about housing and homelessness while working with community members.

Answer End date can be extended if additional hours are needed.
