Project Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Volunteers are needed at GEEKcon! GEEKcon is a convention held in The Davies students center on campus. There are many vendors and attractions including cosplay, LEGO, E-sports and more. Volunteers are needed for set up and take down, as well as helping with the attractions.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer GEEKcon is an annual event at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, dedicated to showcasing, entertaining and promoting multiple talents, hobbies, and passions.

3.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer Volunteers will need to help direct participants and answer any questions. Volunteers may also handle food. Instructions will be given on how to communicate with guests and vendors.

4.

What are the learning objectives for this project

Answer GEEKcon is about embracing community and everybody's differences and hobbies. Learning objectives include, engaging with the community, expanding knowledge of other’s backgrounds, and exposing students to different perspectives.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Set up is on Friday December 5th from 4-7pm and all day Saturday December 6th from 8am-6pm. Breakfast and lunch is provided on Saturday
